The TAP Clinic COVID-19 Policy

Dear Valued Client/Family of the TAP Clinic,

We are sure you have received many notifications regarding COVID-19 at this point, and we wanted to update you about what we are doing at the TAP Clinic to respond to the outbreak. The health and well-being of our clients, clinicians, and team members is our top priority here at the TAP Clinic. In addition, we want to be mindful of the fact that our clients may live with vulnerable individuals (e.g., older adults, immunocompromised individuals) or be in high-risk categories themselves. Due to the current social distancing recommendations related to the covid-19 crisis, we have temporarily transitioned the clinic to telehealth for the foreseeable future. This has been a difficult decision to make as a clinic- trying to balance our state/country's public health needs with the individual needs of our clients and staff. Ultimately, we have deemed it safest to transition to telehealth at this time. We are not certain how long this will remain in effect, but will be in communication with you as we know more. We will transition fully back to in-person sessions when the clinic believes we are safely able to do so. Please contact your individual clinician or group leader directly for information on our telehealth options. They will be happy to discuss the risks and benefits associated with telehealth and will need your consent prior to initiating telehealth services.

As we transition to telehealth as a clinic, there may be a delay or pause in our intake procedures for new clients, couples, and families. For our DBT programs (both adult and adolescent), we have paused all intakes until early to mid April. We will reassess our openings and telehealth capabilities for DBT intakes at that time. For our non-DBT programs, intakes will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and seen via telehealth for those that are eligible/appropriate.

If you have questions or concerns about your services or the steps being taken by the TAP Clinic to prevent the spread of coronavirus, please speak to your individual clinician. They will be happy to have a discussion on how best to promote continued health and safety of our clients, staff, and families. This is a challenge for all of us, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate this difficult time.
