Training & Consultation

The TAP Clinic offers training to individuals and groups on a range of topics within our areas of expertise. Trainings are available by Zoom at the present time. Trainings can range from one hour to multiple days depending on your needs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Information on our postdoctoral training program can be found here. We offer practicum placements for doctoral candidates in the UNC Clinical Psychology department only.*
DBT Trainings
We offer trainings on a broad range of topics in DBT, ranging from basic introductory training (e.g., for individuals or clinics that are considering whether they want to pursue additional training in DBT) to more depth-oriented trainings (e.g., how to teach DBT skills, running a multi-family group) to highly specific trainings (e.g., conducting chain analyses, developing a case conceptualization, applying DBT to clients with substance use disorders or eating disorders). We offer a free 15-minute call with one of our DBT experts so that we can help you decide if TAP is the right fit for your training needs. If you choose to move forward, we will schedule a longer introductory call to determine the specifics of your training needs and the logistics of the training (i.e., dates, times, trainer, schedule).
DBT Consultation
Clinical. We offer consultation services to individuals and teams who seek to improve their understanding and implementation of DBT and DBT PE. You may request consultation on a single case, on a particular aspect of the treatment (e.g., conducting chain analyses, developing case conceptualizations), or on a broad range of cases. Consultations are available as single sessions or ongoing consultative services.
Administrative & Programmatic. We offer a range of training and consultation services designed to help achieve your programmatic needs. For example, system administrators may wish to seek consultation on any of the following topics:
